The LYSA/LFC Pre-Academy is a program specifically offered to U8 aged players who are currently registered for one of our LYSA U8 boys or girls recreational teams.
The purpose of the pre-academy is twofold:
1. To provide additional training to LYSA players who are looking for additional training, from excellent experienced competitive club coaches, led by Jimmy Rue, who has over 20 years of coaching experience including camps, Club, Olympic Development Program and College. The pre-academy will be overseen by our LYSA director of coaching.
2. To provide an academy like environment for players who are interested in bridging between recreational and competitive play. It will serve as an introduction to the Lexington FC Competitive Academy. Fall 2015 Pre-Academy players will receive one weekly training session, on Fridays at Christ Church at the corner of Harrodsburg Road and Man-o-War. There will be 10 total training sessions of 1 1/2 hours each (weather permitting). The pre-academy season will start just before the recreational season, and will run concurrently with the recreational season. Players in the pre-academy are encouraged to attend all practices and games with their respective LYSA recreational teams.
