The following was emailed to U12 and U14 coaches on 09/26/04

by Larry Cook, LYSA President.

Coaches,

I have a couple of items that I would like to address to you this afternoon concerning the state of soccer in the U12 and U14 age groups within LYSA.

I have had some disturbing reports regarding unsporting behavior by teams in this age group including actions by both coaches and players. I have had reports of fighting among players, verbal abuse by players and verbal abuse by coaches. I will state this here for everyone to know, such behavior shall not be tolerated in any way, shape or form. I am instructing referees to eject from any game any person who engages in abusive behavior of any kind during a LYSA match. Such behavior shall include fighting of any kind and abusive language directed at another individual on their or their opponents team or at the referee. Abusive language shall include cursing, threats of any kind and racial epithets. Reports of such behavior should be made to the League Director who shall have the authority to suspend any individual guilty of such behavior. Further any person ejected from a match for such behavior shall serve a minimum three game suspension in addition to the game from which they were ejected. I take this action because this is a recreational soccer league and the intent is to encourage the enjoyment of soccer and such behavior has no place and will not be tolerated.
